Privacy Notice
This page is the public privacy notice for Google OAuth verification and Indonesia PSE (Penyelenggara Sistem Elektronik) registration. It reflects current product behavior (including Indonesia beta settings). A lawyer review and professional Bahasa translation may still refine wording; the substance below matches the shipping app.
1. Who we are
ExpiryLens is a mobile app that helps you track food expiry dates and reminders. This notice explains what personal data we process when you use the app or contact us.
2. Data we collect and why
- Account identifiers — anonymous device/account IDs, and (if you sign in) Google or Apple account identifiers, so we can authenticate you and sync your data across devices.
- Food inventory data — item names, categories, expiry dates, status (e.g. used/wasted), and related timestamps you enter or confirm in the app.
- Photos — product or date photos you capture to help add items. During the Indonesia beta, cloud AI analysis is off: photos stay on your device unless a later product update re-enables an optional cloud path (with in-app notice before anything is uploaded).
- Calendar / reminder preferences — which on-device calendar or reminders destination you choose, so expiry reminders can be written locally.
- Feedback — optional thumbs-up/down or short feedback about recognition quality, used to improve the product.
- Purchase records — App Store / Google Play transaction identifiers needed to validate a one-time Pro purchase and restore entitlements.
- Support email content — if you email us (for example to request deletion), we process the message to respond.
3. Where data is stored
Backend data for signed-in / synced accounts is hosted on servers in Singapore. On-device inventory and calendars remain on your phone unless you use sync features that send data to our API.
4. Retention
- Account and inventory data are kept while your account is active.
- Item photos linked on the server are cleared 90 days after an item is marked used/wasted or deleted (nightly retention job).
- Soft-deleted item records are hard-deleted after 90 days.
5. Your rights — deletion within 72 hours
You can delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete account). That cascades server-side data for your account. You can also email [email protected]. We aim to complete deletion requests within 72 hours (Indonesian UU PDP expectation).
6. Children
ExpiryLens is not directed at children under 13.
7. Food-safety disclaimer
ExpiryLens is a reminder and organization tool. Dates may be wrong. Always use your own judgment about whether food is safe to eat.
